Hi, we are Kay and Mike, owners and managers of the properties that you see on this website. Our story of how this business began, started off like many of you with a mutual dream to attain a better standard of living in a warm country abroad.
After a frustratingly long wait we were finally accepted into Australia. In 2003, we arrived just in time to avoid the British Winter with two suitcases each, having sold and given away everything else in the UK.
We expected to find a flourishing furnished property rental market but there was such a scarcity that we had to shelve the idea and rent unfurnished. As a result we had a nice home, but we spent so much time rushing around buying something to sleep on, sit on and something to keep the food cold without knowing what we were doing. We could have put that time to much better use, like job seeking to keep our savings from dwindling away! We also found ourselves frustrated by the length of the lease term which prevented us from buying our own house when we were ready and prices were lower.
We thought at the time, if only there had been more furnished and equipped homes for rent on a short-term basis that we could afford. Then, the penny dropped; perhaps this could be something we could do! Perthfect-Stays became a reality in 2004 and now we get the satisfaction of being part of other people’s exciting journeys. We operate this on a part time basis and our aim is to give friendly help and advice as well as providing good value properties that are safe and comfortable. In the process we have made many good friends.
